Desert Wildlife

Here are a variety of photos of wildlife in Arizona.

Here is a mother and baby dove who lived on the balcony of the apartment where I lived from 2000-2002.

This is a tree covered with ladybugs atop Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson. The ladybugs thrive on top of these sky islands.

This is a lizard in the lizard enclosure at the entrance of the world famous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. It is hard to see but that of course is the point.

Here are some prairie dogs playing at the Desert Museum. Prairie dogs are native to southeast Arizona although unfortunately none remain in the wild.

Here is another prairie dog hanging out in a yucca.

Here are some camouflaged toads just above some "permanent" pools in Ventana Canyon in the Santa Catalina Mountains. The Ventana Canyon Trail is very enjoyable.

Here is another view of the same toads.

Here is a parrot at the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson.

On to Arizona Flowers or Arizona Scenic Views.
