This is Arrowrock Dam on the Boise River.
This is part of Hell's Canyon on the Idaho/Oregon Border (ie the left side of the Snake River is actually Oregon). The canyon is aptly named as it was 108 degrees the day I was there and about 95 degrees at midnight while I was trying to sleep.
This is more of Hell's Canyon.
More Hell's Canyon near sunset.
This is a waterfall (I'll let you guess the vertical scale) located a short distance by trail from the Hell's Canyon Dam. It is on the Oregon side of the river.
These are the Seven Devils Mountains which lie above Hell's Canyon. They have names like He-Devil, She-Devil, the Black Imp/etc and they lie rise 9000 feet or so above the Snake River.
These are bellflowers in the Seven Devils Mountains. Alpine flowers were very abundant during my visit (7/30/96). I don't really have the right camera equipment for macro work, but I took a bunch of photos anyways.
These are buttercups in the Seven Devils Mountains.
These are alpine-forget-me-nots in the Seven Devils Mountains.
This is indian paintbrush in the Seven Devils Mountains.
This is some variety of parsley in the Seven Devils Mountains.
And lastly, here is a field of flowers in the Seven Devils Mountains. Most of the red flowers are indian paintbrush.
