In 1985, The University of Arizona consolidated its traditional and long-standing strength in astronomy and planetary sciences through an interdisciplinary program in theoretical astrophysics that involves the Physics, Astronomy, and Planetary Sciences Departments. The Theory program administers a Monday colloquium series, a theory lunch, graduate student research and recruitment prizes, and a newsletter. In addition, it has a modest travel and capital equipment budget to facilitate the science of its junior members. See the program description for more detail. The University of Arizona has established the Arizona Prize Postdoctoral Fellowship as part of its Program in Theoretical Astrophysics. See the full advertisement for more detail and application information.
TAP members can also submit proposals for the Theoretical Astrophysics Grants Program, and graduate students can submit papers for the Graduate Student Paper Prize in Theoretical Astrophysics.
