Incoming Physics Major Adrian Perez-Martinez Named 2026 Flinn Scholar
The Department of Physics congratulates Adrian Perez-Martinez, an incoming physics major and recipient of the prestigious 2026 Flinn Scholarship, one of Arizona’s most competitive academic awards. Adrian was selected from more than 1,000 applicants statewide and is among only 20 students chosen for the scholarship, which supports Arizona’s top high school graduates as they pursue their undergraduate education.
A graduate of the KEYS Research Internship program, Adrian developed a passion for condensed matter physics and quantum computing through research experiences at the University of Arizona. His work with Physics Professor Brian LeRoy helped shape his academic interests, and he plans to continue conducting research in physics this fall with Weigang Wang, Professor of physics, studying spintronics and quantum matter.
The Department of Physics congratulates Adrian on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to seeing the impact he will make as part of our community.
