Physics Joint Faculty Member Hao Xin Receives IEEE John Kraus Antenna Award
Physics Joint Faculty member Hao Xin (Electrical and Computer Engineering) has been recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as the recipient of the John Kraus Antenna Award, which honors individuals who have made significant advancements in antenna technology. Hao Xin was recognized for his work on 3D-printed Luneburg lens antennas and radar systems that have improved imaging and sensing capabilities for industrial applications.
Prof. Xin's research spans microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz antennas, devices, and circuits used in wireless communication and sensing. His work focuses on developing hardware that transmits, receives, and manipulates electromagnetic waves across a broad range of frequencies, supporting technologies such as high-speed wireless networks, radar systems, and advanced imaging applications. His research portfolio includes electromagnetic bandgap crystals, metamaterials, carbon nanotube devices, solid-state circuits, and active antennas.
